Restoran Volaria in Pula: fish, shellfish and home-made pasta on the shore of Marina Veruda
Volaria works on the shore of Marina Veruda in Pula, with 130 seats and a terrace facing the masts. Since 2021 owner Igor Prhat and chef Ante Živković have turned the menu towards fresh fish, shellfish and home-made pasta.
Restoran Volaria stands at Cesta Prekomorskih Brigada 12, right on the shore of Marina Veruda, about ten minutes' drive from the centre of Pula. It holds first place in our guide to the Top 10 restaurants in Pula and a 4.3 rating on Google with almost a thousand reviews. This text explains who cooks there, what is eaten, what it costs and when, in September 2026, it is worth booking.
Where it is and who runs it
Marina Veruda is the largest marina in Pula, and the restaurant sits on its shore, so the terrace looks out on masts and moorings instead of a street. There are 130 seats in total; the large open terrace has a smaller section covered with curtains that keep out wind and rain, and inside is a renovated dining room. Parking next to the restaurant is free, which in Pula in season is no small thing.
Since 2021 the restaurant has been run by a new team: owner Igor Prhat, manager Tea Gobo and chef Ante Živković. Živković turned the menu towards fresh fish, shellfish and home-made pasta, and both bread and pasta are made in the kitchen every day. The restaurant is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the kitchen working from noon to 10 p.m.

Desserts are made in house: apple strudel with cinnamon ice cream (7.50 euros), chocolate soufflé with almond semifreddo (7.50 euros) and yoghurt cake with dried figs (7 euros). There is a children's menu, food can be ordered to take away, and dogs are welcome on the terrace.
What dinner costs
Going by the menu, a starter, a pasta or risotto and a dessert come to 35 to 40 euros per person without drinks. Anyone going for shellfish and a whole fish should count on 60 euros and more. The fish platter for two at 55 euros is the simplest way to go through a good part of the fish menu in a single order.
What guests point out
Guests in reviews point out the view of the marina, the friendly staff and the seafood dishes. Black risotto, scampi and home-made pasta come up most often, followed by the pizzas. Complaints mostly concern waiting at the Saturday peak, when the house serves several hundred meals.
Booking, and when to come in September 2026
A table is booked online through the Volaria profile on Jelo.hr or by phone on +385 52 385 387. For Saturday evening a booking is essential throughout the season; on a weekday in September a lunch table on the terrace can usually be had without notice. September is a good month for the marina: the yachts are still at their moorings, the evenings are warm enough for the terrace, and the August crowds are gone.
From the centre, the marina is about ten minutes by car or taxi. The other Pula addresses Volaria is compared with, from Boccaporta on Dolinka to Bistro Alighieri on Dante's Square, are in our guide to the Top 10 restaurants in Pula, and the full list is in the directory of restaurants in Pula.
