In 2026 Crikvenica eats along the seafront promenade and on Kralja Tomislava street: a family inn open since 1967, konobas with peka, bistros facing the sea and a wood-fired pizzeria. Ten places guests trust most.
Crikvenica in 2026 has two dining axes. The first is Strossmayer promenade along the sea, where people lunch after the beach and dine during the evening stroll. The second is Kralja Tomislava street, the main road through town, where a family inn open since 1967, a bistro with peka and a konoba under a vine follow one another. Between them, on Vinodolska street some two hundred metres from the water, the konobas stay open all year. This guide narrows the choice to ten places with the best balance of rating and number of reviews.
The list is deliberately varied. It holds a fish inn, a konoba by the stadium that locals recommend, bistros with terraces in the first row to the sea, a wood-fired pizzeria, a grill next to the town market and a promenade café-restaurant that serves past midnight. The town has no premium positions; the order follows reputation among guests, with outside confirmation such as the Falstaff guide.
For every restaurant we give the location, the dishes most often mentioned, indicative prices and whether to book. Reviews are summarised with both praise and complaints, because in July and August waiting for a table in Crikvenica becomes part of dinner.
1. Gostiona Zrinski, Ul. Kralja Tomislava 43
The highest-rated restaurant in Crikvenica and the longest-running house on the list. Gostiona Zrinski has been a family restaurant since 1967, on the lower part of Kralja Tomislava street a few minutes' walk from the waterfront. The cooking is Mediterranean with a focus on fish: octopus carpaccio, tuna tartare, šurlice pasta with truffles and fuži with mushrooms, steaks and platters for two. Gluten-free dishes are marked on the menu and the staff will prepare vegan plates on request.
Rated 4.8 with more than 1,400 Google reviews and third in town on TripAdvisor. Budget 25 to 45 euros per person for dinner with drinks. The restaurant is seasonal, open from 11 a.m. to midnight, so in July and August book the terrace a day ahead.
Guests in reviews single out the relaxed, entertaining waiters and the fresh fish, while complaints concern over-salted dishes and waiting times at the height of the season.

2. Konoba Karoca, Kotorska ul. 40
The konoba locals most often recommend to visitors. Karoca sits on Kotorska street next to the football stadium and the Calvary, about ten minutes' walk from the promenade. The cooking is Dalmatian and coastal: squid on potatoes with vegetables, crisp fritto misto, grilled fish, risottos, pasta and a platter for two, plus braised beef and steaks for those who skip fish. The interior is done in a coastal style, with a terrace and parking.
Rated 4.6 with more than 2,200 Google reviews, the most on the list, and the Falstaff guide includes it among the restaurants of Kvarner. Prices are mid-range, roughly 15 to 35 euros per person. A booking is almost essential in summer, though walk-in guests often still get a table.
Guests in reviews single out the friendly waiters, fresh fish and platters for two, while complaints concern the location far from the sea and somewhat higher prices.

3. Bistro Mika, Ul. Kralja Tomislava 107
The best portion-to-price ratio on the list. Bistro Mika stands on the upper part of Kralja Tomislava street, away from the sea, with a large free car park, a heated terrace and 130 seats. The menu blends Croatian and Italian cooking: fish and squid, grilled dishes, pasta, and spit-roast or peka to order. The house also makes its own jams and ice cream, and owner Tomislav answers reviews personally.
Rated 4.6 with almost a thousand Google reviews. The bistro is open all year, daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., takes bookings by phone and online and hosts weddings and larger celebrations. A good choice for families with a car and for lunch outside the season.
Guests in reviews single out the generous portions, affordable prices and likeable staff, while complaints concern occasionally greasy fried squid and chips.

4. Konoba Pandora, Vinodolska ul. 11
The most affordable konoba on the list that still holds a 4.6 rating. Pandora is on Vinodolska street, about two hundred metres from the sea, in a small space with 30 seats inside and 16 on the terrace. It is run by Denis Ponjević. The cooking is Mediterranean and homely: fried squid, grilled fish and meat, and spit-roast or peka for groups to order. TripAdvisor places it in the cheapest price band, and guests in reviews regularly mention the ample portions.
The konoba is open all year, which is not the rule in Crikvenica, but shortens its hours outside the season, so check before you go. With so few tables, book by phone in summer.
Guests in reviews single out the ample portions, quick service and professional staff, while complaints are rare and concern the crowd in a small space.

5. Bistro Loran, Gajevo Šetalište 17
A first-row seafront terrace with the most reviews in town. Bistro Loran is on Gajevo promenade, right by the beach, and combines a bistro, a pastry shop and a café, so it works from morning coffee to dinner, until midnight in summer. It is run by Besar Ameti. The menu is Mediterranean, with fish and seafood, but also simpler dishes for guests coming straight from the beach. Cakes from the in-house pastry kitchen are a reason for an afternoon stop.
Rated 4.5 with almost 1,400 Google reviews. Prices are mid to upper range, as befits a seafront location. Book for a table facing the sunset; the terrace fills before 8 p.m.
Guests in reviews single out the position of the terrace, the view and the polite staff, while complaints concern flavours that some guests find too tailored to tourists.

6. Konoba Ognjišće, Ul. Kralja Tomislava 142
A grill under the vine for guests who are not after fish. Ognjišće is at the upper end of Kralja Tomislava street, in a part of town where parking is not easy, with a spacious terrace under a grapevine and a smaller room inside. It is run by Goran Veljačić. The kitchen is about meat and pizza: pljeskavica with roast potatoes, ćevapi, mixed grill and the house pizza Ognjišće, alongside a few fish dishes.
Rated 4.5 with more than 450 Google reviews. Prices are lower than by the sea, but side dishes are charged separately, which guests mention. Open daily until 11 p.m.; a booking is only needed for larger groups.
Guests in reviews single out the juicy grilled meat, friendly waiters and tables under the vine, while complaints concern separately charged sides and the lack of parking.

7. Pizzeria Gušti, Zidarska Ul. 35
Wood-fired pizza that Crikvenica has been ordering for fifteen years. Gušti is on Zidarska street, in a residential part of town away from the promenade, with 36 seats on the summer terrace and 18 inside. The owner is Oliver Gulin. Beyond pizzas such as margherita, frutti di mare and the house Gušti with ham, bacon and sweetcorn, the menu offers skewers, ćevapi, medallions in mushroom sauce, grilled squid and pasta. The most expensive dish is rump steak with a side, 22 euros.
Rated 4.3 with more than 2,000 Google reviews. Delivery is free within five kilometres, from Selce to Dramalj, daily until 10.30 p.m. For dinner on the terrace in summer come early or call ahead.
Guests in reviews single out the pizza, the grilled squid and the tidy setting, while complaints concern over-baked delivery pizzas and slow service when it is busy.

8. Kavana PIKO, Strossmayerovo šetalište 41
The best place to eat without leaving the promenade. Kavana Piko is in the heart of Crikvenica on Strossmayer promenade, with 105 seats on the terrace and only about twenty inside, so it is really an open-air summer restaurant. It runs in season and stays open until 1 a.m., a rarity in town. The menu is coastal and family-oriented: grilled squid, fish platters, grilled meat, pasta and ice cream, with dishes for children.
Rated 4.4 with more than 1,000 Google reviews. Prices are fair for a first-row promenade spot. Bookings are not the custom; you wait for a table, but tables turn quickly.
Guests in reviews single out the quick service, fair prices and the fact that children are welcome, while complaints concern waiting and dishes that do not arrive together when it is busy.

9. Bistro Crikvenica, Trg Stjepana Radića 4
The best choice for a burger, pizza or ćevapi on the main town square. Bistro Crikvenica has a sunny terrace on Stjepan Radić Square, where the promenade begins, and the menu is deliberately broad: burgers, pizzas, pasta, ćevapi, pljeskavica and rump steak from the grill, risottos, fish and salads. Cocktails such as Hugo and Aperol Spritz and wine by the glass go with the food.
Rated 4.4 with around 220 Google reviews, the fewest on the list, but the number is growing fast. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Prices are mid-range and portions, according to reviews, are large. No booking needed; a table can be found even in season.
Guests in reviews single out the huge portions, affordable prices and friendly waiters, while complaints concern the occasional over-salted or greasy pasta dish.

10. Grill Tržnica, Ul. Braće Brozičević 10
The only halal grill in the guide and the place for lunch straight from the market. Grill Tržnica sits beside the town's green market on Braće Brozičević street, a few steps from the promenade. It is run by the Idrizi family, and in 2023 the daily Večernji list presented it as a grill where all the meat is halal. It serves ćevapi, lamb, chicken and mixed grill, plus fresh fish that guests particularly praise. Open daily until midnight.
Rated 4.4 with around 230 Google reviews. Guests reckon on 20 to 30 euros per person. Cash only, and no booking is needed.
Guests in reviews single out the hospitable hosts, fresh fish and well-seasoned meat, while complaints are rarely mentioned, apart from cash-only payment.

How to choose a restaurant in Crikvenica
First decide whether you want the sea or some quiet. On Strossmayer and Gajevo promenades are Piko and Loran, with first-row terraces but also the biggest crowds. Kralja Tomislava street, a hundred metres or so above the sea, has Zrinski, Mika and Ognjišće; parking is easier there and prices are lower. Karoca by the stadium and Pandora on Vinodolska street take ten minutes on foot, and that is exactly why locals recommend them.
Second is the booking. Zrinski, Karoca and Mika take reservations and in summer a terrace table is hard to get without one; Pandora has few tables, so call. Piko, Bistro Crikvenica and Grill Tržnica work on a walk-in basis. Outside the season Zrinski and Piko are closed, while Mika, Pandora and Karoca stay open all year.
Third is the budget. For a full dinner with drinks count on 25 to 45 euros per person at Zrinski, Karoca and Loran; Mika, Pandora, Ognjišće and Gušti allow an evening out under 20 euros. Fish sold by the kilo is always the most expensive item, so ask the price before ordering.
