Pantarul

Pantarul, which means fork in the Dubrovnik dialect, is in Ulica kralja Tomislava, outside the walls, about ten minutes by taxi from Pile or by bus lines 4 and 6. The kitchen is led by chef Angelo Van Damme Mijović. The menu has around twenty seasonal dishes made from Župa and Konavle produce, with fish that arrives daily, and homemade pasta and bread.

On the menu are fettuccine with veal tail and sage, gnocchi with octopus in arrabbiata sauce, beef cheeks and risottos. Prices are in the mid range. The restaurant has been covered by The New York Times, National Geographic Traveller, Lonely Planet and Time Out, and Tripexpert has given it an Experts' Choice award.

The room has thirteen tables, so reservations are recommended a few days in advance, by phone on 020 333 486 or by e-mail. Open all year, no dress code. Guests in reviews single out the food and the service equally, especially the wine recommendations to go with the meal.
