PET BUNARA Dine & Wine
Pet Bunara Dine & Wine has been operating since 1981 by the square of the same name in the old town of Zadar. Through the glass floor of the dining room you can see the remains of the city walls.
The kitchen is led by chef Isak Petrov and combines Dalmatian tradition with a modern expression: a starter of homemade spiced bread, olive tapenade, beetroot and pancetta crisps, slow-roasted lamb shank with potato and plum, and a mandarin cake as the permanent dessert. The desserts are by Kristina Mulle, and the wines are chosen by sommelier Filip Cimera, with an emphasis on Croatian labels. Gault&Millau gives the restaurant 13 out of 20 points.
The restaurant has its own herb garden as well as an olive grove and a fig orchard, so the menu follows the seasons. Main courses cost roughly 15 to 30 euros. Reservations are recommended; in season the restaurant is often full. Guests most often mention in reviews the homemade bread with olive oil and the wine selection.
