Quandoo is shutting down: deadlines, data export and a five-step plan
Three dates change your business: reservations stop on 30 September 2026, guest services end on 1 October, everything shuts down on 31 December. The order of moves that applies whichever system you choose next.
Quandoo is shutting down. For restaurants there are three dates that actually change the business. The first is 30 September 2026, the last day for new reservations. The last is 31 December 2026, the complete shutdown of the website, app and infrastructure. Both appear in the official notice at quandoo.de/important-update, and since September 2026 the quandoo.de homepage carries a note that the service remains available "up to and including 30 September 2026".
This text was written on 10 September 2026. This guide is the order of moves that applies whichever system you choose afterwards.
The deadlines, date by date
- 30 June 2026 — passed. The last day guests could earn loyalty points; they can redeem them until 30 September (quandoo.de/important-update).
- 30 September 2026 — last day for new reservations through Quandoo. According to the trade portal Tageskarte (1 April 2026), restaurant partner contracts end automatically, with no cancellation needed.
- 1 October 2026 — all guest-facing services end. Reservations already made for dates after 30 September remain valid and the restaurant receives their details (quandoo.de/important-update).
- 31 December 2026 — complete shutdown. Data export for restaurant partners is available until that date (Tageskarte, 1 April 2026).
Two things you need not worry about: you do not have to send a cancellation, because the contract expires on its own, and you will not get an invoice, because Quandoo charges no fees from 1 April to 30 September 2026 (Tageskarte). One thing you do need to worry about: after 31 December there is nowhere left to export from.
Why it is closing and why that must not wait
Quandoo was bought in 2015 for around €200 million by a Japanese investor (Tageskarte, 1 April 2026), and the company announced the closure in March 2026 as a "business decision", with no successor announced (Verdict Foodservice, 26 March 2026). In September 2026 the footer of quandoo.com reads "Quandoo GmbH i.L.", meaning the company is in liquidation. Nobody will move you somewhere else automatically, and nobody will send you a forgotten export in January.
The five-step plan
1. Export your data this week, not in December
This is the only step that cannot be fixed if you miss it. Quandoo support helps partners with exports until 31 December, but in December every restaurant that put it off is asking for the same thing. Export at least:
- the guest database — names, email addresses, phone numbers, visit counts, notes; this is the most valuable part and the hardest to rebuild
- reservations for dates from 1 October onwards — date, time, party size, guest contact
- reservation history as far back as you can get it, to compare occupancy next season
Open the file immediately and count the rows. If the interface says you have 3,000 reservations and the file has 800, ask for the rest now. Save it in two places.
2. Choose a replacement and set it up before 30 September
The goal is for the new system to take reservations before the old one stops. A two-week overlap is not a cost but a safety margin: reservations for autumn weekends arrive in that period, and you have time to catch capacity mistakes.
When choosing, look at three things: whether you pay a fixed fee or per guest, whether the guest database stays yours, and how long setup takes. For orientation, in September 2026 DISH Reservation in Croatia costs €25 per month plus €50 activation, excluding VAT (dish.co/HR/hr); jelo.hr charges €29, €59 or €79 per month depending on the plan plus a one-time €99 activation, nothing per guest, and setup takes one day. The billing models are compared in the guide A reservation system without a per-guest fee, and the market overview is in Quandoo alternative for restaurants.

3. Replace the button on your website and check your Google profile
The Quandoo reservation button on your site stops working on 30 September. If you do not replace it, the guest clicks and nothing happens, which is worse than having no button. Alongside it, check:
- Google Business Profile — if the "Reserve a table" button came through Quandoo, it disappears. Make sure the profile links to your site and the phone number is correct.
- Instagram and Facebook — the link in the bio is often an old Quandoo link.
- QR codes on tables, flyers and email signatures — everything pointing to Quandoo goes dead.
On jelo.hr, online reservations run through the restaurant's website, which can sit on your own domain, so the link you publish stays yours even if you change systems again one day.
4. Notify guests with reservations after 30 September
This is the step most people skip. A guest who booked a table in August for 20 October holds a confirmation from a system that will no longer be running, and does not know it. Move those reservations into the new system and send a short message: your reservation stands, here is the new confirmation, here is the new way to book. If the new system sends automatic confirmations and reminders, that step is entering the reservation, nothing more.
If you ran a loyalty scheme through Quandoo, tell guests what is happening to it: points stopped accruing on 30 June and can be redeemed until 30 September. Most guests have not noticed.
5. Train staff before the first weekend in October
The floor manager and waiters need to know the new system before 30 September. Walk them through three situations: a guest phones and must be entered, someone needs to see tonight's floor plan, a guest does not show up. Give them staff access with limited permissions, so they are not working under the owner's account. For the first week keep the old and new lists open side by side and compare them each evening.
Checklist
- guest database exported, row count checked, saved in two places
- reservations from 1 October and history exported
- new system set up: tables, zones, opening hours, rules
- button on the website replaced
- Google profile, Instagram, Facebook and QR codes updated
- guests with reservations after 30 September have a new confirmation
- staff trained, access assigned
- calendar reminder for 1 December: final check that nothing from Quandoo is missing
If you still do not know what comes next
The order matters more than the decision. Export your data now, even if you only choose a system next week. The export is the one item with a deadline that does not move. If you want setup done in one day, with your tables and your October reservations already entered, get in touch through the contact page; plans and terms are on the pricing page.
