In 2026 Šibenik has a Michelin star, a Bib Gourmand in the hinterland and a handful of taverns that fill their terraces every evening. Here are five addresses worth knowing before you book a table.
In 2026 Šibenik holds the strongest culinary hand of any town between Zadar and Split. The Michelin Guide Croatia, published in June 2026, confirmed the star for Pelegrini next to the cathedral, kept the Bib Gourmand for Konoba Vinko in Konjevrate, and named Pelegrini's sommelier Branimir Vukšić the best sommelier in the country. Beneath that peak sits a broad base of family-run taverns, pizzerias and waterfront restaurants that stay open all year.
Jelo.hr currently lists 16 active restaurants in Šibenik, which is why this guide is a Top 5. The order follows awards, ratings and the number of guest reviews, with care taken to keep the list varied: one fine-dining restaurant, one country tavern, one place for big portions at fair prices, one Italian address and one tavern in the old town.
For each restaurant we note what reviews praise most often, what guests complain about and roughly what you will pay. The data was collected in September 2026; prices and opening hours change with the season, so check directly with the restaurant before you go.
1. Pelegrini, Jurja Dalmatinca 1
The only Michelin star in Šibenik and the most serious address for a special dinner. Pelegrini occupies the Renaissance Pelegrini-Tambača palace right beside the Cathedral of St James, with a terrace on Four Wells Square. Chef Rudolf Štefan runs the kitchen and offers two tasting menus, of four or six courses, that reinterpret Dalmatian cooking and change with the season. The 2026 Michelin Guide confirmed the star, and sommelier Branimir Vukšić received the award for Croatia's best sommelier; the wine list runs to more than 500 labels with a Dalmatian focus.
Prices match the star: four courses 165 €, six courses 195 €, with wine pairings at a further 95 or 119 €. The restaurant serves dinner only, closes on Sundays, and in April and May 2026 offered lunch for the first time in four years. Booking is essential, and in season that means weeks ahead.
Guests in reviews single out the service and the wine pairings, while complaints mostly concern the ratio of price to what arrives on the plate.

2. Konoba Vinko, Uz cestu 57
The best reason to drive 15 kilometres inland from Šibenik. Konoba Vinko stands on the road to Drniš in Konjevrate, a village of around a hundred residents, four kilometres from the Lozovac entrance to Krka National Park. Founder Vinko Krnić is still there every day, while the second generation runs the business: daughter Maja Bačić manages and her husband carves the meat. Michelin awarded it a Bib Gourmand, its mark for good cooking at a fair price, and describes it as a country tavern where meat is the main character.
Two dishes carry the house: roast suckling pig with crackling skin and Skradin-style veal risotto cooked for hours. According to Eat Out Zagreb's review, a portion of suckling pig costs about 12 €, the risotto 16 €, starters 3.50–6 € and desserts 5–6 €. Open Tuesday to Sunday, noon to 11 pm. Without a booking, especially at weekends, you will likely be turned away; call two or three days ahead.
Guests in reviews most often praise the suckling pig, the risotto and the generous portions, while complaints concern the slow pace after the main course when the tavern is full.

3. Restoran Antin gušt, Ul. Velimira Škorpika 18
Šibenik's address for big portions and a bill that does not hurt. Antin gušt sits on Velimira Škorpika street at the exit from the Adriatic highway, away from the tourist part of town, which is exactly why locals fill it. The menu is huge: grilled ćevapi, pljeskavica and skewers, game goulash with gnocchi, pašticada, fried squid, plus pizza and daily specials. It opens from six in the morning until 11 pm and also delivers through Wolt.
Prices sit below the Šibenik average. According to the published price list, goulash with mash costs about 10 €, Dalmatian pašticada with gnocchi 16 €, and most mains fall between 10 and 15 €. With more than 7,500 reviews and a 4.5 rating, it is the most-reviewed restaurant on our Šibenik list. There is parking and a terrace, pets are welcome, and expect a crowd at lunchtime and in the evening.
Guests in reviews highlight portions big enough to share and quick service, while complaints point to uneven quality of some dishes when the place is packed.

4. Gastro Italiano, Podsolarsko 78
The safest bet for wood-fired pizza in the wider Šibenik area. Gastro Italiano is in Podsolarsko, within walking distance of the Solaris resort and the Amadria Park hotels, so alongside locals it draws resort guests looking for a cheaper dinner. The trattoria has been running for more than 15 years: the menu lists some twenty pizzas, pasta, steaks and fish, and among its specialities it highlights salt cod prepared several ways. In summer the large terrace seats up to 200 guests, and there is live music on Thursdays.
Prices are mid-range, with portions guests regularly describe as large for what they pay. A 4.6 rating across almost 3,000 reviews makes it one of the best-rated restaurants in town. It has parking, a terrace, delivery and welcomes pets. In summer the restaurant asks for a phone booking for dinner after 7 pm; without one, you wait for a table.
Guests in reviews praise the crisp pizza crust and warm staff, while complaints concern slow service and waiting when the terrace is full.

5. Konoba Nostalgija, Ul. Biskupa Fosca 11
The old-town tavern to book when you want fish without a fine-dining bill. Nostalgija is a family-run konoba on Biskupa Fosca street, not far from the cathedral, with a small kitchen and a short menu that changes with the day's fish and vegetables. It describes itself as the taste of the Mediterranean as it once was; in practice that means Dalmatian cooking with modern touches, local wines and Croatian craft beer.
TripAdvisor puts the price range at 10–25 €, which is good value for the old town. Reviews most often mention the tuna tartare with smoked mussels, the octopus salad and grilled fish. It opens in the evening, from 4:30 pm to 10 pm, and the space is small, so without a booking in summer expect a half-hour wait. There is a terrace, and pets are welcome.
Guests in reviews single out the warm, almost family-like service and the freshness of the fish, while complaints come down to waiting for a table in season.

How to choose a restaurant in Šibenik
Šibenik has two dining layers, and it pays to tell them apart before you book. The first is the old town: the stone streets around the cathedral, the waterfront and Four Wells Square, where taverns are small, terraces are full from May to October and prices run higher than elsewhere. Pelegrini and Nostalgija belong here. The second layer is the restaurants at the edges of town and in the hinterland, such as Antin gušt, Gastro Italiano and Konoba Vinko, with parking, bigger portions and a bill that is often half the size. Without a car, choose the old town; with a car and children, the second layer.
Booking is a subject of its own. In July and August you will not get a seat without one, whether in an old-town tavern or at Vinko, and Pelegrini is booked weeks ahead. Out of season a same-day call is usually enough. With fish, ask what came in that day and ask for the price per kilogram before ordering, because grilled fish across Dalmatia is charged by weight. Finally, check opening hours. Some Šibenik restaurants open only in the evening, and some close for a few weeks in winter.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best restaurant in Šibenik in 2026?
By awards it is Pelegrini, the only restaurant in Šibenik with a Michelin star, confirmed again in the 2026 edition of the guide. If you are after the best value for money, Michelin gave its Bib Gourmand to Konoba Vinko in Konjevrate, 15 kilometres from town.

In July and August, yes, almost everywhere. Pelegrini fills up weeks ahead, Konoba Vinko wants a call two or three days in advance, and small old-town taverns such as Nostalgija mean a wait without a booking. Out of season a same-day call is usually enough.
